Being sneaky ...

Maya Road CHA-S sneaks are going on on the Maya Road Company Blog! Hop on by every day to treat yourself to an eye-candy feast and with each new post of sneaks, you get a new chance of winning a Maya Road CHA-S prize package! Just leave some lovin' on each post!

ps to Aniza: :) your comment in the previous post made me tear up. For so many reasons. Till I had to make a trip to the ladies for a good cry-out. Brunei was a blast, I had an amazing first 3 days. I just need to cool down, gather my thoughts, and cry out all my emotions before I can talk about the trip. In the meantime, Brunei, know that you will always have a piece of my (broken) heart.

Before I go ...

This will be a quick post, I gotta catch some sleep before my breakfast date with A later!

So, I think I'm done packing for Brunei. Nervous and excited to get there. You guys, please be kind to me!

A couple of notes for my class. First, the giveaways are packed in my luggage. For those attending my class, remember to read up on your scrapbook trivia! *grins* There'll be a couple of surprises during the class too, so watch out!

Also if you need a supplies list on what to bring for the class, here it is.
  • Choice of alphas (refer to this post for the alphas I used on the class sample)
  • Precision-tip scissors
  • White and black pen
  • Glue tape
  • Dimensional foam/glue dots
  • Glossy Accent
  • Liquid glue
  • Come with 4 items that you are thankful for/ that you are blessed with
  • A photo that represents each item listed (for at least 2 items out of the 4 listed above). For eg. my items are family, friends, love and life. Photos should be in 2R size or be crop-able to 2R size.

I think there might be some spaces still for the
DT classes, so take a look at the class descriptions on the blog and drop by Shabby Chic to book your place okay!

See you all in Brunei!

Catalyst Sixty-Eight

Did your life turn out how you imagined?

I almost laughed out loud when I read this week's Catalyst on Creative Therapy. My lif
e right now is SO not how I imagined it to be. But am I happy with it? I'm happy enough. And that's good enough for me. :)

The team's work on this Catalyst was also featured on the July issue of ScrapStreet.com Magazine. Check the article out here.

Thanks for taking a look!

Snapshots

After almost two weeks of craziness at the office, I came in to work to see this on my table. Tell me, you want to cry or not?? Again and again, I keep getting reminded that kindness and appreciation will always be there for me. If not from one person, then it will come from another. And another and another. From people who remember you, who will want to be associated with you. And these will matter so much more. That everything will be good for me in the end.

On the subject of all things good, I really do hope that my darling fellow scrappers have signed up for the classes the Shabby Chic Brunei DTs will be teaching next weekend! I will be teaching a very yummy Summer-y Butterfly album, using (of course!) lots of my favorite products from Maya Road and Pink Paislee! I really can't wait to share this album with you guys, but for now here's a little sneakie. Check out how much Maya R
oad and Pink Paislee there already is in this little picture! Go on down to Shabby Chic to book your place, NOW! Okay, maybe tomorrow morning ... I think they're already closed now. *ahem* Oh, I'll be giving away lots of prize packs from Maya Road and Pink Paislee during the class, so seriously book your place quick okie!

Speaking of Maya Road, there is a Summer of Fun Recipe Card contest going on until August 10th. If you would like to see your Summer Maya Road project featured on the Maya Road website as a downloadable recipe card, you NEED to check out the details HERE. Yummy Maya Road goodies ($250 worth of products for the top wi
nner!) up for grabs! Also, the generous people at Maya Road will be giving back to a noble community Kiva.org for each entry submitted to this contest. Pleasepleaseplease do your part, and have fun doing it with Maya Road!

I'm crazily (there's that word again) trying to finish up a few more Maya Road projects for CHA-S before I leave for Brunei, so I'd better get back to that. Seriously, you will fall head over heels in love with the new Summer collection from Maya Road. Theriouthly. I've got a big pile of CDs to download into my iTunes too - Dad, sis and I went a little *ahem* crazy at the music store today. So toodles!

I'm In Love With Pink Paislee!

I had my turn on the Pink Paislee Blog on Monday, and here's my layout for Manic Monday. I love how all the Pink Paislee products can be mixed across the different collections and look 'perfectly matched'. On this layout, I used papers from the newer Winsome collections mixed with the older Office Lingos. Alphas are also a mix of new and old (Holly Doodle stickers will remain one of my favs for a loooong time!), and I also added some Christmas-y trim from the Tinsel Town Ribbon set.

The next project is an easy-peasy one to create. I love the quote 'A Home is made with Love and Dreams' and it became the title for this card. I used a Jenni Bowlin Bingo card as the base, and easily embellished it with Pink Paislee Winsome's Chipboard Elements and cardstock punchouts from the Spring Fling collection. Alpha stickers are again, a mix of old and new. I think I'll be making a trip to the Salvation Army to see if I can salvage a frame to put this card in. Any excuse to make a trip there! :)

Oh, Pink Paislee is bringing its First Annual Warehouse Sale to you! Boxes stuffed with yummy Pink Paislees and the sweetest deal isssss ... you get one sheet of a new unreleased-yet paper from Pink Paislee CHA-S collections! Oooo ... I'm so jealous! They'll ship internationally too, check out the details
here!

HI!

Did you miss me? Okay, I know maybe only 2 people actually notice my comings and goings ... and these 2 don't even read my blog. lol! But how have you guys been??

I've been busy 'spring-cleaning', or rather Summer-night-cleaning after I get home from work and done with the household chores. And by 1am when I find myself (in desperation) surrounded by handbags on the bed, bottles of shower gels tethering on the edges of shelves and books strewn on the floor, I wonder why I put myself through this. I feel consumed with a need to declutter and streamline my belongings. It began with the de-stashing of my SB stuff, which fyi is still going on intermittently and the urge to get rid of all that I could exploded from there. I'm welcoming uncovered floors and empty shelves (gasp!) ... now if only I can get all these organising and streamlining done, I can finally have a worktable and bed that's orderly. :)

That's enough rambling! I wanted to actually share with you a couple of random pictures. Kate sms-ed me about this a month or so ago, and I dragged A to Kinokuniya to get myself a copy of the mag. hee! Well, truthfully (and amazingly), he was the one who dragged me there. Imagine that. Anyway, what was all the hoo-hah? This humble blog was featured as one of Scrapbook Inspirations Magazine's Blog Loves. hee! So fun. Dad, Sis and even my Bro (double-gasps!) were so happy to see this. *shy* How nice to know some people out there like visiting here for reasons besides finding fodder for gossip. :)

I loved that the Maya Road DT Blog and Pink Paislee Chipboard Elements were also featured on the same page - click on the first picture to get a closer look. SOOO very happy about that!

Well, I'll be back soon with some Maya Road and Pink Paislee projects. Toodles!

p.s. Some stuff on my SB Stash for Sale have been re-listed (grrr!) and some new ones added. So go on over to check them out! :)

Lia Loves ...

  • My customised rubber stamp from Craftpudding's etsy store!! I've been salivating after her stamps for over a year, and when we did a Secret Santa thingy amongst the Maya Road DTs I knew exactly what I would ask for! Jess got me a voucher for a stamp, and I finally decided on this lil' brunette! I like to think she looks like me. lol! I could seriously be addicted to these stamps ... umn ... I want like another 10!!

  • Another lust. I saw this tumbler in another scrapper's Starbucks tumblers collection (I wish I remembered which blog I saw it in!) a very long time ago, and got quite flustered when I couldn't find it in Singapore. It didn't stop me from grabbing the other super-cool tumblers available though *ahem* Anyhoo, this has been available in local stores for a month or so already and I still hesitated to get one for myself! The irony! I finally took the plunge yesterday, got myself one and I.LOVE.IT!!! So many reasons for you to get one for yourself.
  1. It's a great way to show your love for Gaia. You won't be adding a used plastic cup into the Earth's waste each time you're done with your daily coffee anymore! Did you know plastic will take manymanymany years (even more than our lifetime) to break down, and even when they do they release toxins that contaminate the soil and waterways?
  2. You SAVE money with these tumblers! Did you know that each time you bring your tumblers to Starbucks for your cuppa, they will give you a 50cents discount off your drinks? Yep! So you'll get a Venti for the price of a Grande!!
  3. The Grande plastic tumbler retails at $16.90, but it will seriously pay for itself because of the above reasons.
  4. They just look so cool lah!

  • I did a mini photoshoot of my darling Rosebud Blythe and isn't she the sweetest cutest thing?? Even my sis was enamored with her closeup shots like this one! I like to think she looks like me too. Without the pink hair of course *ahem*

So that's it for now! Later!

Lots of Quickies

Can't chat, got exciting stuff to do! Will share these quickie snippets for now! :)
  • Maya Road's Sizzlin' Summer Warehouse Sale is here!! Urgh, what I wouldn't kill to find out what's inside each box!! It'd be like Christmas in summer when you open each box, so grab one (or four) for yourself now! More information here!

  • My Picasa Gallery of SB stash for sale is also updated!! I went through my stuff for the 2nd time in a month, and I did some serious cleaning out this time. My biggest achievement for this round was definitely cutting down on so much patterned papers that I've restricted my paper containers to my shelves and none on the floor anymore!! I'll share my tips for decluttering my stash, if you'd like to hear. Let me know! In the meantime, if you are staying in Singapore or will be passing through here and would like some bargains, drop by the gallery and email me your interest to purchase or any questions you have on the products! The addy's azminlia@yahoo.com.sg, remember to include the subject 'Lia's SB Stash!'
  • Did you figure out the exciting news I've been dying to share?? Sharon, Emily and I going to be teaching at Shabby Chic again!! Check out the details on the blog!! I'll share a sneakie soon but to tantalise your tastebuds, in my class we'll be playing with lots of my favorites from Maya Road and Pink Paislee - the two greatest brands of products EVER!! That's what I'm rushing off to do - kitting for the class, which means lots of caressing my favorite products! So hurry and book your place for the class, I can't wait to see you guys!!

TTFN!!
