An Inkling ... of Schtuff.

Typical of someone in a veryveryvery tight deadline situation, I procrastinated on what I was supposed to do and destashed instead. My SB Stash for Sale Gallery is very full of stuff and physically they're mostly under my worktable at the office. Though honestly the sight ain't pretty. I have barely enough space for my legs. Yep, it's that bad.

Before I continue, I would like to thank you guys who've supported my Destashing Mission with your purchases. I really appreciate it so much. It feels so good to know the stuff that I don't need are going to people who will love them so much more.

But I have to admit, I am a gal of high standards *ahem* And this mass of boxes (because of course I'm still organised, it is after all still a corporate office despite it pretending to be a craft warehouse. cough.) under my table so does not meet my standards of "simple living" *coughcough* It actually pisses the heck out of me sometimes. Especially when I have to tuck my leg under another, or I have to turn to another corner so that I can stretch them, or when my toepolish gets chipped because I accidentally hit my toe on a box of stuff yet again. Geez.

I desperately want to be rid of all this schtuff.

So I have an inkling to do a garage sale of sorts of my Stash that are still up for sale. My inkling feels that the garage sale will be at my home. On a weekend for a couple of hours. So if you come, you'll get to molest the stuff and be inspired by what you're seeing and touching instead of having to depend on the pictures in my Gallery and using more imagination than is necessary. And perhaps I'll include some kits of my past classes in the garage sale, and perhaps some mini-kits for some cute mini projects.

Of course, these are just inklings, ideas, dreams? The matter at hand is, if they were to become reality ... would you come? There is the matter of my house being in the East of Singapore, which might pose a problem if you were somewhere far out in the West. But if it was me, I'd go anywhere if I really wanted something. :)

Let's do a poll to see if this inkling is feasible for me to do. Let me know your thoughts!

Scrapping with New Pictures :)

It's my turn on the Pink Paislee Blog, my last for the term in fact. Oh how I wish this journey with Pink Paislee didn't have to end. *sigh* I've loved every minute with the Team and it's been such an honor to be amongst such talent and also to have my name affiliated with such a quality company. Rebecca, are you reading this? Don't make me go ... pllliiisssss! lol. No seriously, it's been an amazing year with Pink Paislee and even if I don't make it for the 2010 team (yes, all current CT gals have to reapply just like you guys!) I am really ecstatic that I had the opportunity to work with the gals. And I wish everyone else who applied for the 2010 Creative Team the best of luck, it's a crazy-cool company to work for. :)

Back to my blog post! Another location we went to on Saturday for the shoot with Leena was Starbucks @ Jalan Jamal. It's our favorite outlet, we can hang out there for a whole public holiday day - me with my scrapping and/or a book, and him with his football news and his PSP. We're easy to please, what can I say. So anyway, this picture I used on the layout below was taken last Saturday. I love the focus on the drinks. Told ya, Leena's a talented photographer. :)

More details on the Pink Paislee Blog!

The day after the photoshoot, I spent a few more hours with Leena at her home for her Canvas class. I was really glad to be in the company of such great gals - Angie, Deedah and Wendy - gosh, such a riot! The class was soooo fun!! And I was so inspired by the techniques Leena taught us that I went straight to the LSS after the class and bought some materials so that I can replicate the project. *blush* Who would have thought I could do something so arty like those paint splatters and misting on the canvas?? Yep, that was all me. *ahem* Oh, the photo I used during the class was also taken the day before. All the gals insisted that Mr A looks like the late P. Ramlee in the photo. lol! He couldn't stop laughing when I told him. Guess who they said I look like? *hint* She was P. Ramlee's hothot flame and her name starts with 'Sa'. lol! I might just have a similar behind, but that's all I can claim! Are you laughing non-stop now??

Thanks Leena for such a great weekend! It was super!! Love you!

19th December 2009

Friends on my Facebook have been teased with a countdown to 19th of December for a month already, and some were so excited about the date (even though they didn't know why!) that I even had reminders about it on the eve of! So what was all the big deal about?

Azmi and I love our couple photos. Maybe it's just us, but we feel that the pictures can really portray the love we have for each other, maybe it's our overwhelming love the camera can't help but to capture it, or perhaps we are just a good-looking couple. *ahem* lol!

Anyway a couple of months ago, we discussed how it's been ages since we took any pictures together - not even self-shots! We desperately wanted new pictures, and thought that it was time for professionally-taken pictures instead of those where our arms (holding the camera) can also be seen. Our first and last professional photog session was in 2004 when I graduated from Uni! Anyway around the same time as we had our discussion, our good friend Leena began building her photography portfolio. The pictures she took of her bestie Ally's engagement were just breathtakingly gorgeous, I had tears in my eyes when I saw them - and I didn't even know Ally! I proposed the idea to Leena to do a photoshoot with Azmi and I, and thankfully she agreed! The photoshoot date was settled for 19th December. A and I have been preparing since for the shoot. What our preparations were, I'll chat about it another day. :)

Leena and I were prepared for Azmi being all shy, but honestly I'm so proud of him. He laughed silly when Leena wanted to do some funny shots and crazy moves, but he went ahead and did them! Love him so much for that. He fell back a couple of times, being shy and all that. That was when Leena told him to just be my celafare (sp?). lol.

So how was Leena as our photographer? Words would fail to descri
be her, but I'll try. It really helped that she's our friend so I was definitely comfortable with her. For those shy or embarrassing moments, or when she wanted us to be 'naturally-happy', she was up to laughing at herself and us - and that got all three of us some amazing shots. She's got an amazing eye, her compositions are impeccable and her detail shots - even of our legs - can make me cry. Oh well, I'll stop gushing and share some pictures which she's already passed to us. I'd like to think that she already started working on some so quickly because she loves the pictures as much as Azmi and I do. :)

This shot along with the jumping one are our current favorites!

Well, that's all I have for now. Will share more as Leena works on them. I can't wait to see the rest too!

ps: My Facebook friends, thanks for counting down to this day with Leena, Azmi and me!

When food, drinks and crazy people mingle ...

Calvin invited us to his place for a bbq dinner, and I couldn't go empty-handed. So I made this frame for him and his family, a thank you gift for having us. It's a slight variation from the one I made here. Addicted to these frames? Yes.

Here are some pics we took that night. We were still pretty civilised until ...

... the madness began. Even C's kids were infected! Or perhaps they infected us. Hmn.

And yes, the house is more gorg than what you see in the pictures. sigh.

Till the next time, toodles!

My crazy talented friends

If you're crazy over your accessories, then you need to make a dash to the Fash Dash this weekend at the Red Dot Museum. My friend, Meijin will be there selling her gorgeous totally one-of-a-kind jewelery under her brandname, DUCHESSM. Just look at a few of her creations below. Gorg right?? She'll be there from 11am to 7pm, so drop by her stall to say hi and score some beautiful bling.

I haven't attended a scrapbook class in ages and when Leena showed me an altered canvas she created recently, I jumped at the opportunity and told her "teach this, teach this!" So yes, my friend has taken the plunge into teaching and the canvas below will be her debut project! And yes, I got my slot confirmed! I'll be attending with a couple of darling girlfriends, and I'm so excited! Leena still has a couple of slots available for this class, so drop by her blog and book your place quick!

And remember, I have a few class slots available this month. Check the details here!

Chat soon, I gotta rush a housewarming gift now!

Organised Clutter December 2009 Classes

After a number of months of teaching classes, one would think it gets easier for me to create new projects for classes. But nope, I think it gets more difficult! Self-imposed pressures to recreate previous successes, to design a class that people will value and appreciate (though how it's possible to please all tastes and styles, I have no idea), and to try not to lose myself and my style in the process - I've always been amazed at those who do it on a regular basis, and I appreciate those who do, even more now.

While I don't celebrate Christmas, I've loved the season's decorations since forever! As a scrapper, I've relished in how much glittering fun one can have on Christmas decorations and you can see how much I love this part from the December classes I created. There's three of them. Yep, THREE different projects. If I had to choose a favorite, the altered frame would be it! Click on below mailer to find out more :)

Pink Paislee Shiny Stamping Sunday

It was my turn on the Pink Paislee blog last Sunday and I played with the gorgeous Mistletoe Impressions Stamp set - oooo those vintagey icons! - on some Cupid papers (coming to your LSS-es very soon!), which coordinates perfectly with the Mistletoe papers. The stamped images were used on these paper mache stars, that I think will look so cute on a Christmas tree.

And just for fun, I covered two more stars with Pixee Stix glitter! :)

Altogether now.

More details are on the Pink Paislee blog, hop on over to check all the inspiration galore from the Pink gals. :)

All Things Lovey-Dovey

I had a couple of commissioned orders this past weeks, one was the cover of a wedding guestbook and the other was a framed housewarming gift.

Today after I delivered the housewarming gift, I took some time to clear the creative mess from making that frame in total silence - no tv, no music ... and I realised that I am now more sure than I've ever been that I do lovey-dovey stuff best. Be it for a couple or a family, as long as it's lovey-dovey I know I will rock the project. At least to my biased eyes. :)

Anyway here are the two commissions. I had so much fun on these! *pics overload - I know yo
u like that though!*

Housewarming Frame

*The pics for the frame are so crazy-grainy, I'm so mad at myself!*

Guess what? I'm planning something similar to the frame for a class in December! So watch out for it! This is it in the meantime, another post coming up very soon. Possibly with lots more pics. :)
